What is important to us

People are at the heart of everything we do.

Hi, my name is Catherine and I am the Founder of HooperHyde. I have worked in the legal profession since 2004 at large corporate firms. In that time, I have acted for all types of clients from individuals to small enterprises and multi-national corporations.

And then in 2018 I changed direction...

In 2015, my Mum passed away. Her passing made me realign my values and what was important to me. No longer was I just focused on career progression. I wanted to feel like I was making a difference to my clients, building relationships with them, and seeing things through from start to finish. I wanted to create a space to work in that met my needs as a human being.

When my Mum passed away, it became clear to me that family, work-life balance and real job satisfaction were my measures of success.

A fresh challenge

So, in 2018 I became a self-employed consultant solicitor. It was a nice transition from being employed to self-employed.

When I started out on my own, I soon saw how many businesses weren’t accessing legal advice at key points in their business lifecycle. Sometimes because it was prohibitively expensive, sometimes because they didn’t realise they needed it, sometimes because they didn’t know what kind of advice they needed or what was available to them.

So, I decided that I needed to offer a service that met all of these pain points. And that’s when the idea for HooperHyde was born.

As the business has grown and developed, it has become clear that there are many great lawyers or service providers that need a space to show how truly talented they are without the typical corporate constraints.

A name that lives on

The name HooperHyde is made up of my maiden name and married name. I am proud of my married name but when coming up with the name of the business I wanted to give a nod to my parents who are sadly no longer with us.

Both of them were extremely proud of the fact that I am a solicitor, an achievement that until recently I hadn’t really given the kudos it deserved. And so came HooperHyde. A law firm dedicated to helping businesses thrive and to join you on a journey to success.

Our core beliefs

We have three main core beliefs: Collaboration, Transparency, Satisfaction.

This cuts both ways, for our clients and our partners. We want you to feel like we really understand you, your goals, dreams and aspirations, and what you want to achieve.

We want our clients to feel confident that they are receiving value for money on legal spend.

We want our partners to feel valued for the contribution they bring to the table.

Our clients and partners will never be just a number on a scoreboard for us. We truly care.
